A handle is easy to say and easy to mistype. A code is neither: somebody points a camera at it and they are on your page, which matters when the page is on a poster, a merch table, or a slide behind you.
The share button on your page opens the code for that page, a copy link, and Save contact, which hands over a contact card carrying your name, your page, and your avatar. The code is generated in the browser, so nothing about who scanned it is reported anywhere, and it saves as a PNG you can drop straight into artwork.
It is on every page on both plans, and there is nothing to add to the page to get one. Print it once and it keeps pointing at whatever your page says today.
