Show the time left, live on the page. The date does the persuading.

Saying soon does nothing. A countdown shows the exact time remaining to a date you set, and it keeps ticking while the visitor reads the rest of your page.
Set the date and the block counts down to it. Blocks can also be scheduled: give one a time window and it appears and disappears on its own, so a drop goes live at midnight without you being awake to publish it.
The clock is honest. It runs on the date you entered, not on a banner you forgot to take down three weeks ago.
