The opening hours block.

Somebody looking up a shop at nine on a Tuesday evening is not reading a table. They want one word. The hours block answers first, in a line that says "Open now, closes 10 pm" or "Closed, opens Wed 8 am", and puts the week underneath for anyone planning further ahead.

The block keeps one timezone, yours. That is the whole trick: a visitor three timezones away is told about your Tuesday rather than their own, and the status is right whether it is read from the next street or the next continent. Daylight saving is handled for you, in both directions.

Each day takes up to two stretches, which is what a lunch break actually looks like on a sign, and a close set at or before the open reads as running past midnight, so a bar open until 2 am is still open at 1. Exceptions take a date and a name: Christmas Day, a private event, one late night. They win over the week, and they say why.
